Intense focus
Building a business is hard and full of distractions. We seek founders who can multitask in the near term while remaining laser-focused on their major long-term objectives.
Track record
Whether it be a 9-5 career before becoming a first-time founder, or serial entrepreneurism, we want founders who were high achievers in their previous endeavors. If your success story includes failure and adversity, even better.
Desire for mentors
Our model as partners is predicated on our frequent collaborative involvement in the operations of the business. We know it’s not for everyone, though. We look for a mutual fit with coachable entrepreneurs who know their blindspots and want mentorship and guidance to support them.
Sound businesses with
Material traction
In our experience, businesses with consumer-oriented products, technologies, and services show true proof of concept once achieving $1MM+ in TTM revenue. We also want businesses with top-quartile unit economics/gross margins in their respective sectors.
We generally look for large TAM opportunities. When the TAM is smaller, we don’t balk, but there needs to be minimal fragmentation and/or rapid growth due to the existence of a large white space within that market.

Businesses can stand out from the pack in various ways, and we take time to discern which ways yours might be unique. Generally we look for defined IP or trade secrets, unique brand positioning, best-in-class product quality, and scalability.
